Reasi terror attack: LG announces ex-gratia of Rs 10 lakh to families of kins

The terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi has claimed 10 lives on Sunday after which high alert has been issued in the area.

Update: The office of Lt Governor of Jammu and Kashmir has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 10 lakh to be given to the next of kin of pilgrims martyred in the Reasi terror attack. The injured would be given Rs 50,000. Meanwhile, the injured pilgrims are being treated at different hospitals in Jammu & Reasi.

Notably, 10 people have lost their life in the terror attack in Reasi on Sunday. 


Along with a number of BJP officials, President Droupadi Murmu has conveyed his sincere condolences for the lives lost in the terror incident in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi and denounced the attack on a bus transporting pilgrims from Shivkhori in the district to the holy shrine Vaishno Devi, Katra. According to the sources, 10 people have lost their lives and 33 more individuals were hurt in the incident.

Taking it to her X handle, President Droupadi Murmu posted, "I am deeply distressed to learn of a bus accident in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir in which a number of pilgrims have died. My condolences to the families of the victims. I pray for the speedy recovery of the injured." She also wished for the speedy recovery of people who got injured.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Minister Amit Shah, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, former Jammu and Kashmir chief ministers Omar Abdullah, Mehbooba Mufti and Ghulam Nabi Azad, condemned the attack and condoled the loss of lives.

Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir has also condemned the attack and assured for the strict action against terrorist behind the heinous act.

Meanwhile, the search operation is being carried out by the Indian Army in Reasi. The Indian Army is using drones to search the forest area.

State disaster response team has also reached the spot and the search operation is on.
