New Delhi: The law and order situation in Maharashtra has once again come under scrutiny as Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) leader Uddhav Thackeray publicly criticized the state's ruling coalition on Wednesday. The Shiv Sena (UBT) chief shared a disturbing video on social media, showing the bodyguard of Shinde Sena MLA Mahendra Thorve brutally beating a man in broad daylight in Neral. Thackeray’s accusations of rising hooliganism across Maharashtra have intensified the ongoing debate about the state's deteriorating law and order under the Mahayuti government.

Thackeray shares disturbing video

The video, shared by Thackeray on his social media platform X (formerly Twitter), shows a bodyguard of MLA Mahendra Thorve, identified as 'Shiva,' assaulting a man in front of his family. The victim's wife and children can be seen crying out for help, but bystanders reportedly hesitated to intervene. The incident took place in Neral, which falls under Thorve’s Karjat constituency.

Expressing his frustration, Thackeray posted, "Gangsters in Maharashtra! MLA Mahendra Thorve's bodyguard named 'Shiva' beat up a person on the road in broad daylight in Neral. The man's wife and children were crying, but no one dared to come to help..."

Rising hooliganism across Maharashtra

In his scathing critique, Thackeray pointed out that this incident is not an isolated case. "It's not only in Karjat, hooliganism has risen across Maharashtra," he stated. Thackeray's remarks reflect growing concerns from the opposition about the alleged failure of the state government to control lawlessness. He also noted, "The law and order situation has gone to ashes," underscoring his view that the government has failed to maintain safety and security in the state.

MVA's continued attack on the Mahayuti government

For the past few days, MVA leaders have been vocally attacking the Eknath Shinde-led Mahayuti government for what they describe as a "crippling" law and order situation in Maharashtra. Thackeray's latest attack only adds to the mounting pressure on the state administration, which has been repeatedly accused of turning a blind eye to growing violence and crime.

Thackeray, a former Chief Minister of Maharashtra, has consistently voiced his concerns about the state’s governance since stepping down. His recent comments, along with the viral video of Thorve’s bodyguard's actions, are likely to escalate the ongoing political tension between the ruling and opposition factions in Maharashtra.

As Uddhav Thackeray and other MVA leaders continue to raise alarm over the law and order situation, the state government faces increased scrutiny. The viral video of Mahendra Thorve's bodyguard beating a man in broad daylight has ignited public outrage, bringing the issue of rising hooliganism and government accountability to the forefront of Maharashtra's political discourse.
