Uber India launches 'Uber Pet': People can now take furry friends on ride in Bengaluru

Uber Pet Bengaluru: In a significant move aimed at making travel easier for pet owners, Uber India has launched its ‘Uber Pet’ service in Bengaluru. This new facility allows pet parents to travel with their pets in Uber cabs, addressing a long-standing concern of many who had previously been forced to leave their pets at home due to cab drivers refusing to allow pets in their vehicles.

For years, pet owners and animal lovers have requested cab services to accommodate pets, as many drivers were hesitant to allow pets onboard. Uber’s new service finally addresses this issue, allowing pet owners to travel freely with their animals, whether dogs, cats, or even birds. This eliminates the need for pet owners to leave their companions behind, offering peace of mind and convenience.

How to book an ‘Uber Pet’ ride?

Booking a ride with your pet through Uber is a simple process. According to the Uber Newsroom, here's how you can book an Uber Pet trip:

1. Open the Uber app and enter your destination in the ‘Where to?’ box.
2. Select the ‘Uber Pet’ option at the bottom of the screen.
3. Set your pick-up time.
4. Review your booking details and confirm your ride.

This new option allows for a comfortable and hassle-free ride with your pet.

Pre-book your ride up to 90 days in advance

In an effort to make the service even more user-friendly, Uber Pet is available as a reserve-only option, meaning riders can pre-book their trips from 60 minutes to up to 90 days in advance. This flexibility allows pet owners to plan their trips well ahead of time, making the service even more convenient.
