The unprecedented rains have caused widespread destruction, leaving many areas under water and causing significant damage to properties.As of Tuesday, the torrential floods have led to the cancellation of over 300 trains in Vijayawada, with 170 others diverted and 12 partially cancelled. The ongoing deluge has claimed 27 lives across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, and forced thousands to flee their homes, with many being relocated to relief camps.Intensive Rescue and Relief Operations UnderwayIn response to the crisis, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and local authorities have intensified rescue and relief operations. On Tuesday, teams began air-dropping food packets, water bottles, and other essential supplies to those stranded in flood-affected areas of Vijayawada.Six helicopters and drones have been deployed to distribute food items, including biscuits, fruits, milk, and medicines, according to an official press release. The Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority (APSDMA) has confirmed that Ministers, IAS officers, and IPS officers are leading relief efforts in the hardest-hit neighborhoods of the commercial city, where several areas remain submerged.Relief Efforts in Full SwingPriority is being given to providing basic necessities to those affected, with 43,417 people relocated to rehabilitation centers.
