UP News: In Agra, Uttar Pradesh, police apprehended two sisters and an auto driver for their involvement in a string of robberies. Using clever schemes inspired by the Bollywood film Bunty Aur Babli, the sisters would lure male passengers into their auto before robbing them. The Tajganj police station had been receiving complaints for days, and after a detailed investigation, they uncovered the trio’s modus operandi.

The Deceptive Strategy Behind the Crimes

The sisters, hailing from the Shahganj police station area, confessed to learning their methods from the popular heist movie. They would leave their mobile phones at home to avoid being traced and borrowed phones from strangers to contact their accomplice, an auto driver. Once in the auto, they roamed the city in search of solitary male passengers. When they found a target, the victim was seated between the sisters, making it easier for them to steal valuables such as gold chains and mobile phones.

Targeting Vulnerable Victims

The sisters admitted to primarily targeting lone men, exploiting their vulnerability. “We mostly targeted lonely men because it was easy to rob them,” they stated during the police interrogation. Sometimes, one of the sisters would use her charm to trap men before robbing them. For their crimes, they paid the auto driver ₹4,000–₹5,000 as a share of the loot.

Further Investigation Underway

The Tajganj police are continuing their investigation to determine whether the trio is linked to additional crimes. With the sisters and their accomplice now in custody, the authorities hope to bring justice to the victims of these calculated robberies.
