Earthquake tremors (x/@PragativadiNews)
Within a one-hour span on Wednesday the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) Manipur centre recorded two earthquakes which reached magnitudes of 5.7 and 4.1 in Manipur. The authorities reported no damage occurred when recording the event.
Both earthquakes struck Manipur at 11.06 am and 12.20 pm according to the IMD report. The India Meteorological Department located the earthquake epicenters at Kamjong within Manipur according to their report. The National Centre for Seismology (NCS) ministry of earth sciences reported an earthquake of magnitude 4.1 which took place on 05-03-2025 at 12:20:43 IST with coordinates Lat: 24.70 and Long: 94.34 and depth of 66 km located in Bishnupur Manipur India.
The staff at this central government office located near Imphal airport experienced their initial earthquake at the workplace. Two gentle earthquakes occurred in Myanmar earlier during Wednesday. Information from NCS shows two earthquakes occurred one after another with magnitudes 4.7 and 4.5 at times 3.36 am and 3.54 am respectively.
