A shocking video has emerged on social media showing a cab driver, claiming to be a "social worker" associated with Congress MP Varsha Gaikwad from Mumbai North Central constituency, abusing and forcing a traffic policeman to apologize by touching his feet.

Viral video details

The one-and-a-half-minute clip begins with a traffic policeman holding the driver by his hair and ordering him to get inside the vehicle. Once inside, the driver accuses the cop of assaulting him merely for taking a picture. As the car begins to move, the driver records the interaction, hurling abuses at the officer. The policeman, visibly distressed, pleads with the driver to stop the vehicle. Eventually, the driver halts, exits the car, and demands a public apology from the cop. Under duress, the officer is seen touching the driver's feet.

The video, whose location and timestamp remain unclear, quickly went viral, sparking widespread criticism and debates about the behavior of both individuals involved.

MP Varsha Gaikwad denies connection

Reacting to the incident, Congress MP Varsha Gaikwad strongly denied any association with the accused. She stated, "After a thorough review, I can categorically confirm that this is a malicious attempt to falsely portray the individual as my social worker. He is neither known to me nor associated with me in any capacity."

Gaikwad also raised questions about the authenticity of the video, pointing out that the supposed traffic cop might be an impersonator. "This misrepresentation not only maligns my reputation but also damages the credibility of the Mumbai Police," she added.

Call for action

The MP announced that her office had contacted the police and planned to file a formal complaint. She urged Mumbai Police and the Home Department to take strict action against those involved in the creation and dissemination of the misleading content. Additionally, she appealed to social media platforms to remove the video to prevent further damage.

Gaikwad condemned the video as a targeted attack, stating, "This is an attempt to tarnish the image of a Dalit woman who follows the teachings of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. This is not just an attack on me but on the values I uphold."
