A shocking incident has unfolded in Faridabad, where a traveling ticket examiner (TTE) allegedly pushed a woman off a moving train, leading to severe injuries and prompting authorities to book him for attempted murder. The altercation stemmed from the woman, Bhavna Devi (40), boarding the AC-1 coach of the Jhelum Express while carrying a ticket for the general compartment. The harrowing ordeal unfolded on February 29, when Devi, the wife of a laborer based in the National Capital Region (NCR), went to the railway station to catch a train to Jhansi for a relatives wedding. Despite purchasing a general coach ticket at 12:15 PM, she inadvertently boarded the AC-1 coach of the Jhelum Express. In her complaint, Devi recounted the chilling events that followed. The traveling ticket examiner (TTE) asked me to get off the coach, she said. As the train was about to move, I requested him to let me stay till the train reached the next station. I showed him my ticket and offered to pay the fine. But he became angry and warned me that he would push me out if I didnt get off.Devis pleas fell on deaf ears as the train began to move. I again requested him as the train started moving. He threw my bag and luggage outside, and pushed me off the moving train, she stated in her complaint, adding that the TTEs actions were carried out with the intention to kill. The impact of the fall was severe, trapping Devi between the coach and the platform. It was her 17-year-old daughter and other passengers who came to her rescue at the Faridabad station. Devi, a resident of the NCR city, sustained fractures in both legs and underwent surgery at the ESIC Hospital in Faridabad, where her condition is currently stable.Authorities have taken swift action, registering an FIR against the TTE at the Government Railway station under Section 307 (attempt to murder) of the Indian Penal Code. Devi has submitted her train ticket to investigators as evidence.Bhavna Devi is undergoing treatment at ESIC Hospital in Faridabad. She underwent surgery for fractures in both the legs. She is out of danger. We have registered an attempt to murder case against the TTE.
