Manipur and Andaman Sea experienced earthquakes on Monday and Tuesday respectively. According to the National Center for Seismology (NSC). NSC has announced that Manipur’s Ukhrul district was hit by an earthquake late at night on Monday with a magnitude of 5.1 whereas a magnitude of 4.4 jolted the Andaman Sea which occurred early morning on Tuesday.

The earthquake of magnitude 4.4 jolted the Andaman Sea at around 3.39 am at a depth of 93 km. NSC took to ‘X’ informed about the natural phenomenon. “Earthquake of Magnitude:4.4, Occurred on 12-09-2023, 03:39:30 IST, Lat: 6.19 & Long: 95.31, Depth: 93 Km, Region: Andaman Sea,” NCS said in a post on the social media platform, X.

The earthquake in Manipur took place late on Monday evening at around 11.01 pm at a depth of 20 km. No casualties or damages have been reported so far.

“Earthquake of Magnitude: 5.1, Occurred on 11-09-2023, 23:01:49 IST, Lat: 24.40 & Long: 94.77, Depth: 20 Km, Location: 66km SSE of Ukhrul, Manipur, India,” NCS posted on X.

Ukrul had previously also witnessed another earthquake of magnitude 3.5 on July 21.

Meanwhile, the earthquake that shook Morocco on Friday has shaken the entire nation with the death toll rising to 2900 till now. Rescue operations are underway to save and rescue people.
