New Delhi: In a tragic incident, Monu Kalyane, Vice President of BJP Yuva Morcha, was fatally shot in the city's Chimanbagh area under the jurisdiction of MG Road police station. Monu, known for his close association with Madhya Pradesh cabinet minister Kailash Vijayvargiya, succumbed to gunshot wounds inflicted by assailants identified as Piyush and Arjun, who remain at large.

Old rivalry claims the life of BJP leader 

According to police reports, the attack stemmed from an old rivalry between the victim and the accused. Monu Kalyane, a prominent figure in Indore's political landscape and influential in Assembly number 03, was close to former MLA Akash Vijayvargiya, son of Kailash Vijayvargiya.

How tragic incident unfolded? 

The tragic incident unfolded when Monu was preparing for the Bhagwa Yatra on Saturday night. Piyush and Arjun approached him at Chimanbagh intersection, initiating a conversation that quickly turned fatal. Arjun, riding pillion, drew a pistol and fired at Monu before fleeing the scene with Piyush. Although Monu's companions were also targeted, they escaped with injuries.
