In a devastating incident, a massive fire engulfed a house in the Baheta area of Loni police station on Wednesday night, resulting in the loss of five lives. The family, headed by 70-year-old Ishtiaq, included his son Shehfur Rehman (35), Shehfurs wife Nadra (27), sister-in-law Fareem (32), Fareems seven-month-old son Sheesh, Nadras eight-year-old daughter Iqra, and Nadras sister Uzma (25). Fortunately, Ishtiaq and another son Sarik were outside the house when the fire erupted.Police prompt response Prompt response from the police and fire brigade proved crucial as they rushed to the scene upon receiving the distress call. While the fire department battled the flames, bystanders joined forces, extinguishing the fire using buckets of water and ladders from nearby houses.Only one rescuedDespite efforts to rescue the trapped occupants, Uzma was the only one successfully evacuated and rushed to the hospital for treatment. Tragically, the others succumbed to the blaze, including children and elderly members of the family.Possible short circuit case Additional Police Commissioner Dinesh Kumar P. confirmed the tragic loss of lives and stated that an investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
