New Delhi: In a swift operation, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) in Darbhanga, Bihar, successfully thwarted a human trafficking attempt on Tuesday. Three minor children were rescued, and a suspected trafficker apprehended.Acting on a tipActing on a confidential tip, RPF Post Commander Rajeev Verma received information about a potential human trafficking operation involving three children. These children were allegedly being transported under the guise of labor from Darbhanga to Haryana on the Amrit Bharat Express train.Joint team takes actionWasting no time, a joint RPF and GRP team, along with an Assistant Project Officer from Bachpan Bachao Andolan (Save Childhood Movement), mobilized on platform number four. They successfully intercepted the train and apprehended the suspected trafficker along with the three minors.Suspicious details emergeInitial questioning revealed inconsistencies. The children, all residents of Samastipur district, were unable to provide details about themselves, and their travel tickets were believed to be booked by other members of the trafficking network. Additionally, the identity documents found with them raised suspicion.Identifying the suspect and childrenThe apprehended individual identified himself as Mithlesh Sada, a resident of Samastipur. The rescued children were identified as residents of the Scindia police station area in the same district.Child welfare and legal actionThe three rescued minors were handed over to Child Line workers for further care and will be presented before the Child Welfare Committee on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Mithlesh Sada, suspected of involvement in a human trafficking gang, has been handed over to the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) for further investigation and legal proceedings.
