New Delhi: Tamil actor Karthi recently issued a public apology to Pawan Kalyan after the latter expressed discontent with Karthi's comments regarding the Tirupati laddu controversy. The incident occurred at an event in Hyderabad on September 23, where Karthi reacted to a meme about laddus, stating, “Ippudu laddu gurinchi maatladakodadu (we should not talk about laddu now), it’s a sensitive topic manakoddadi (we don’t want).”

Pawan Kalyan's Response to the laddu joke 

Pawan Kalyan, who is currently undertaking an 11-day prayaschitta diksha, a ritual of purification, addressed the media on September 24 in Vijayawada. He expressed his displeasure over Karthi's remarks, advising individuals from the film industry to either support the ongoing issue or refrain from making any comments. In a firm statement, Pawan Kalyan stated, "Don’t you ever dare to say that," underscoring the sensitivity of the topic. He further urged people to avoid discussing the matter on public platforms, emphasizing that the Tirupati Laddu controversy is a significant issue. Meanwhile, Karti replied to Kalyan's statements by apologizing for his pun and saying that he views the matter with utmost sincerity.

Prakash Raj also had a tiff with Deputy CM Pawan and he responded with a video tweet where he can be seen clarifying that, Pawan had misinterpreted his message and that he would have cleared the doutbs personally if he had not been overseas shooting for a project.

The controversy around Tirupati laddus began when Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu accused the Jagan Mohan Reddy administration of using substandard ingredients, including fish oil and beef tallow, in the ghee used to prepare the prasadams. Lab reports confirmed these allegations, leading to the cancellation of contracts with companies supplying ghee. Meanwhile, the Karnataka government has also mandated that only Nandini ghee be used in temples across the state.
