A woman has accused Haryana BJP chief Mohanlal Badoli and singer Rocky Mittal of gang-raping her during a trip to Kasauli in Himachal Pradesh in July 2023. She claims that they recorded videos of the assault and threatened to kill her if she exposed the matter.

The Alleged Assault

She spent the night of July 3, 2023, with her boss and a friend at a hotel in Kasauli, Himachal Pradesh. There, she encountered the two accused who, introducing themselves as singer Rocky Mittal, or Jai Bhagwan, and Mohanlal Badoli, a local BJP leader. For her, it was a night from hell. She said the defendant promised to insert her in an album and to have her work with the government, wherein after forcing her to drink and molesting her, she gang-raped.

Threats and intimidation

After the assault, the criminals, according to her, snapped pictures and recorded video footage of the crime. Further, the victim has revealed that the accused threatened her saying that if she ever narrated the incident to anyone, they would kill her. The woman further says that both the men called her to the house of Rocky Mittal at Panchkula and threatened to falsely implicate her in a criminal case if she spoke of the incident. Such dastardly threats raised the woman's fear and kept silence silently.

Legal Response

On December 13, 2023, police filed an FIR against Mohanlal Badoli and Rocky Mittal upon a complaint lodged by the victim under Sections 376 D (gang rape) and 506 of the Indian Penal Code. The case has been brought before the law enforcement agency so far. Recently, Badoli through the media made it clear that this was part of a "political conspiracy." Thus, it's a case that should be carried further on behalf of the accused and keep everybody interested in having justice in store.

Denials and Conspiracy Claims

The case already had a political controversy added to it with the charges against a BJP leader. The dismissal of the accusations against Mohanlal Badoli as a "political conspiracy" adds a layer of complexity to the case. The legal process will now have to dig out what it thinks about these serious allegations and what course they may hold for themselves.
