There are reports of rift between Thiruvananthapuram MP Shashi Tharoor and the Congress party. Meanwhile, a selfie of his is being discussed. Amid recent reports of being ignored by the Congress, a photo of senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor with Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal went viral on social media on Tuesday. The photo also features UK Minister of State for Trade Jonathan Reynolds.
The Congress MP wrote with a smiling photo, "It was nice to interact with UK Trade and Business Minister Jonathan Reynolds in the presence of his Indian counterpart, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal. The long-stalled FTA talks have resumed, which is very welcome."
Good to exchange words with Jonathan Reynolds, Britain’s Secretary of State for Business and Trade, in the company of his Indian counterpart, Commerce & Industry Minister @PiyushGoyal. The long-stalled FTA negotiations have been revived, which is most welcome pic.twitter.com/VmCxEOkzc2

The picture comes days after reports said that Tharoor had asked Rahul Gandhi to clarify his role in the Congress. However, Rahul refused to comment on any of his complaints or suggestions. Shashi Tharoor's recent article, in which he praised industrial development under the LDF government, also caused unrest within the party in Kerala. When the Thiruvananthapuram MP was asked about the constant criticism from Congress leaders in Kerala over his article, Tharoor said he could not understand the reason for the controversy.
He said, I have no dispute with any leader of the state. If they have any issue, they should decide whether it has been resolved or not. When asked whether he has complained about being sidelined in the party at the state and national level, Tharoor said, I have never complained against anyone.
Shashi Tharoor said, for the last 16 years I have been talking about the youth of Kerala migrating to other countries due to unemployment and the need to promote startups and entrepreneurship in the state. Tharoor said that he has not written this article based on any CPI (M) document, but on the basis of the Center's Global Startup Ecosystem Report and Ease of Doing Business Report. He said, if there is a more reliable source, then I am ready to correct it.
