Goa Police took action against a man who allegedly harassed two women, one of whom was an actress, outside a bank in Panjim, filing a case after the incident was reported to them. The women were on their way back home around 10:15 PM when the incident occurred.
As per the police, the accused rode a two-wheeler and harassed the women by proposing lewd comments and gestures. The complainant, who is an actress, took to social media to share her horrifying experience, where she spoke about feeling helpless and scared on how to tackle such situations. She further added how it was possible for these culprits to have the audacity to act so boldly and when would they learn to actually fear repercussions.
After noticing the social media post, the police reached out to the victim. An FIR was filed for the concern law sections including stalking and sexual harassment. The police have apprehended the suspect, having identified him from CCTV footage as well as from information given by the victim. The most alarming fact here is that the suspect has a history of sexual harassment and POCSO cases and is out on bail for a recent 2024 case.
Several police teams are raiding the locations to apprehend the suspect. The rapid engagement of the Goa Police denotes their determination towards ensuring the safety and delivering justice for victims of harassment.
