They stripped me, dragged me after tying with motorcycle: 60-year-old assaulted over suspicion of cow smuggling

The incident happened in Amroha village, about 275 km away from Ranchi.

A distressing event has surfaced from the Garhwa district of Jharkhand where a 60-year-old was allegedly stripped, tied, and dragged to a motorcycle by three after being suspicious of cow smuggling. According to the sources, the incident happened on Friday near Amrora village. 

As per the preliminary investigation, the victim has been identified as Surswati Ram who was traveling to Banshidhar Nagar Untari with his cattle, where on his way; three persons caught him being suspicious of cow smuggling. 

The victim is getting treated at the sub-divisional hospital in Bandhidhar Nagar Untari. 

An FIR in the case was registered soon after the incident came to light. Three persons are named in the FIR Rajesh Dubey, Kashinath Bhuiyan, and Rahul Dubey. As per officials, Kashinath Bhuiyan has been arrested whereas a serach operation to nab the other two is on. 

A similar incident was reported a couple of months back, when four men were allegedly beaten up by locals on suspicion of cow smuggling in Rajasthan’s Alwar.
