UP News: In a strategic move, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) announced its support for the Samajwadi Party (SP) in Uttar Pradesh's nine assembly bypolls scheduled for November 20. AAP MP Sanjay Singh met with SP leader Akhilesh Yadav, pledging AAP’s involvement in SP’s campaign efforts. Speaking to the media, Singh expressed concerns over BJP’s influence on the election commission and alleged manipulation of bypoll schedules in Ayodhya, stating, “If it’s not suitable for them, by-elections won’t happen and dates for bypolls will be changed.”

AAP and SP Unite Against BJP's 'Divisive Politics'

Following his meeting with Akhilesh Yadav, Singh confirmed a shared mission with SP to challenge the BJP’s policies. "Our main aim is to defeat the BJP, which is spreading hate in the country," Singh stated, emphasizing AAP’s commitment to countering divisive tactics and participating in gatherings to rally support for SP candidates.

Opposition Bloc INDIA Shows Solidarity

While the Congress party decided not to contest the bypolls directly, it extended support to SP, underlining the unity within the INDIA bloc coalition. The coalition aims to challenge BJP dominance across the country by consolidating opposition forces. Addressing the ongoing slogan battle between SP and BJP, Singh remarked that UP’s Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath lacks substantial achievements, resorting instead to aggressive rhetoric.

“The BJP government is not giving reservation to OBC youth. No one is going to be affected by posters or slogans; it’s just deviation from core issues,” Singh asserted, highlighting failures in law enforcement and education. He pointed out the closing of 27,000 government schools, incidents of violence in police custody, and alleged oppression of OBC youth. This bypoll alliance marks a critical attempt to counter BJP’s influence in Uttar Pradesh, with AAP and SP working in tandem to shift the narrative toward governance and social equity.
