As the political landscape in India evolves, a new wave of leaders stepping up to challenge established heavyweights in the upcoming 2024 elections. Phase 4 seems to have very interesting battles on field. So we at Top Indian News present you with an inside look at the battle brewing at the ballot.
Here are seven politicians who are making waves with their determination to bring change and challenge the status quo:
Since 2009, Subrat Pathak has represented the BJP consistently in the Lok Sabha elections, running from Kannauj. With 1.5 lakh votes, he came in third in 2009 and advanced to the first runner-up spot in 2014 with 4.69 lakh votes. Pathak will compete against Akhilesh Yadav in this election.
In the Krishnanagar seat, BJP's Amrita Roy, the daughter-in-law of the Krishnanagar royal family and the local nickname for "Queen Mother," Rani Ma, is competing against TMC's Mahua Moitra. Given that Prime Minister Narendra Modi called up Ms. Roy and Sandeshkhali BJP candidate Rekha Patra as candidates when their nominations were revealed, one might estimate the contest's significance for the BJP.
TMC politician and former cricket player Yusuf Pathan will compete against Congressman Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury in Bengal's Baharampur constituency. From the constituency, the BJP's rival candidate is Dr. Nirmal Kumar Saha.
Voters in Asansol, West Bengal, will select their candidate from a list that includes Surinderjeet Singh Ahluwalia of the BJP and Shatrughan Sinha of the TMC. Notable musician Babul Supriyo, who was affiliated with the BJP at the time, became victorious in the last Lok Sabha election in the constituency.
On May 13, there will be a fight between two top party leaders in Bardhaman-Durgapur, West Bengal. Dilip Ghosh, a senior BJP leader, has frequently caused controversy with his remarks. He is the current Member of Parliament for Medinipur. TMC leader Kirti Azad, who joined the party in 2021, will compete against him. Azad is the TMC currently in charge of Goa.
But this time, Asaduddin Owaisi is up against a formidable opponent in the form of BJP rookie Madhavi Latha. Latha, 49, was not well-known in the political community until March 2, when the BJP announced its slate of candidates for the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections. With a master's degree in political science from Osmania University and a bachelor's degree in public administration from Nizam College, she is a cultural activist.
Awadhesh Kumar Rai
The united opposition created the I.N.D.I.A bloc in an attempt to confront Giriraj Singh and end the BJP's winning streak. They put Awadhesh Kumar Rai forward as their joint candidate against Singh as part of this partnership. In Begusarai, the saffron party faces a formidable battle from the consolidation of anti-BJP votes. Notably, the Left party's intention to capitalize on RJD's strong "MY" (Muslim-Yadav) support base is evident in Rai's candidacy as an OBC and two-term MLA from Bachhwara.
These emerging politicians represent a new breed of leaders who are challenging established heavyweights in Indian politics. With their fresh ideas, energy, and determination, they are set to make a significant impact in the upcoming 2024 elections, reshaping the political landscape of the country.
