The country is ashamed on Women's Day, Israeli female tourist and homestay owner gang-raped

A case that has brought shame to the country has come to light from Koppal in Karnataka. Two women, including an Israeli tourist and a homestay owner, were gang-raped in the district on Thursday night. The police were shocked after the case came to light. Actually, the victims included an Israeli female tourist and an American tourist. The police have registered a case on the complaint and the search for the accused is on.

International News. International Women's Day is being celebrated across the world today, i.e. on 8 March. Meanwhile, an incident that has brought shame to the country has come to light from Koppal in Karnataka. Two women, including an Israeli tourist and a homestay owner, were gang-raped in the district on Thursday night. This incident took place in Koppal, about 350 km from Bengaluru, which is famous as a tech hub. According to the report, the women were sitting near a canal, when some goons came there and raped the women. 

Three other people were pushed into the canal

According to the report, before brutalizing the women, the accused pushed three other passengers into the canal. According to the complainant, Daniel from America and Pankaj from Maharashtra somehow managed to come out, but Bibash from Odisha is still missing. The police officer has assured that the accused will be arrested soon.

Koppal SP Ram L Arasiddi said that five people, including three women and two men, were attacked near Sanapur. Two of the victims are foreigners. One is an American and the other is an Israeli woman. The woman said in her complaint that apart from beating, the accused also sexually assaulted both the women.

What did the homestay owner say in her complaint?

In her complaint, the 29-year-old homestay owner said that she and her four guests had gone to watch the stars along the Tungabhadra Left Bank Canal after dinner when the accused arrived on a bike. The complaint states that they first asked where they could get petrol and then started demanding money from the passengers. When they refused, they attacked the passengers and raped the women. After committing the crime, they fled on their motorcycle.

Police registered a case

Police said that the women are admitted in a government hospital and their condition is improving, but if they wish, they can also be admitted in a private hospital. Based on the complaint, the police have registered a case under rape, gang rape and robbery. Arasiddi said immediate action was taken after the women lodged their complaints. He said the accused were being identified and two special teams were investigating the case. He said the women were medically examined to confirm rape.
