A dramatic incident unfolded when Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Amanatullah Khan, also the party's candidate from the Okhla constituency, lost his temper after being confronted by a reporter regarding his son’s alleged misbehavior with the police. The MLA’s response, caught on video, has since sparked significant public outrage.

The Confrontation

The controversy erupted when a reporter from a private news channel approached Amanatullah Khan to question him about his son's recent altercation with Delhi Police officers. The reporter asked if the MLA felt ashamed about the incident, which reportedly involved his son refusing to comply with traffic rules and allegedly misbehaving with police personnel.

Visibly angered, Khan defended his son, stating, "Should a good person be ashamed?" He then criticized the reporter for what he called inappropriate questioning. In the video shared by Republic TV, Khan is seen asking the reporter to leave, while his supporters were caught on camera pushing the journalist away.

Threats and Allegations

The situation escalated further as Khan intervened in the scuffle, slapping one of his own supporters during the heated exchange. He accused the Station House Officer (SHO) of deliberately recording and leaking the video of his son to tarnish his image. He went on to label the reporter’s news channel as being aligned with the BJP.

Towards the end of the video, Khan was heard threatening the reporter, saying, “Tereko itna marunga, chala ja yahan se” (I’ll beat you so badly, leave from here).

The Incident Involving Khan’s Son

The controversy began earlier in the day when Delhi Police impounded the motorcycle of Khan’s son during a routine patrol. Reports allege that the young man refused to provide his driving license or identification and instead called his father, handing the phone to the SHO. The Assistant Sub-Inspector eventually brought the bike to the police station, issued a challan for multiple violations, and filed a case.

Public Reaction

The incident has drawn widespread criticism, with many calling for accountability from both the MLA and his son. Social media platforms are flooded with demands for action, particularly against public representatives engaging in such behavior.
