Prime Minister Narendra Modi went to Telangana on Sunday launching a BJP poll campaign in the state. Modi has also laid the foundation stone of multiple developmental projects worth more than ₹13,500 crore through videoconferencing in Mahabubnagar district in Telangana. The projects will focus on sectors like road, rail, petroleum natural gas and higher education in the district.

Modi further says that in addition to this, the Indian government is also establishing a Central Tribal University in the Mulugu district of Telangana at a cost of ₹900 crore. This University is to be named Samakka Sarakka Central Tribal University. A National Turmeric Board for the benefit of turmeric farmers will also be set, as per PM Modi’s statement.

PM Modi inaugurates several development projects Telenaga 

Modi laid the foundation stone for the road projects that are part of the Nagpur-Vijayawada Economic Corridor, including the 108 km long four-lane access-controlled greenfield highway from Warangal to Khammam section of NH-163G and the 90 km-long four-lane access-controlled greenfield highway from Khammam to Vijayawada section of NH-163G.

These road projects will cost a total of about ₹6,400 crores for its development, a release here said. Apart from this Modi also inaugurated the newly built four-laned 59 km long Suryapet to Khammam section of NH-365BB. These roads were built at a cost of about ₹2,460 crore and it is a part of the Hyderabad-Visakhapatnam Corridor.

This road project was developed under the Bharatmala Pariyojana. He also inaugurated the 37 km section of the Jaklair–Krishna New Railway Line.

Modi laid the foundation stone for the multi-product petroleum pipeline of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) from Krishnapatnam to Hyderabad (Malkapur). The pipeline will be 425-kilometre long and will be built at a cost of ₹1,940 crores. The ‘Hassan-Cherlapalli LPG Pipeline Project’ which is built at a cost of about ₹2,170 crore was also inaugurated today.

New institutes and structures were also inaugurated by Modi in Telangana today. Five news buildings of Hyderabad University — School of Economics; School of Mathematics & Statistics; School of Management Studies; Lecture Hall Complex – III was launched. The Sarojini Naidu School of Arts & Communication (Annexe) was also inaugurated by Modi.

In terms of railway, Modi flagged off the Hyderabad (Kacheguda)-Raichur-Hyderabad (Kacheguda) train service from Krishna station via video conferencing. The train will be connecting Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Mahabubnagar, and Narayanpet districts in Telangana with Raichur district in Karnataka. The services of this train will start from the Krishna station.

Following his visit to Telangana. Modi is scheduled to visit poll-bound Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh tomorrow, October 2.
