Three coaches of the Charminar Express derailed at the Nampally railway station in Hyderabad, Telangana on Wednesday morning, railway officials confirmed.

At least five people sustained minor injuries.are undergoing treatment at the railway hospital, the official added.

Crash occurs during morning rush hour

According to the Chief Public Relations Officer of South Central Railway, Rakesh, the incident occurred around 9.15am as the packed terminal station teemed with passengers.

"The incident happened at around 9:15 am. This railway station is a terminal station where tracks end, as it is a dead end. The train should have stopped before the end; however, the train overshot and hit it. Three coaches of the train derailed in the incident," he said while speaking to ANI.

He also said that 5 people standing near the train door suffered minor injuries. “They are being treated at the Railway Hospital," he added.
