Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav has launched a scathing attack on the Nitish Kumar-led government, citing the alarming rise in crime and the recent collapse of bridges in Bihar. The opposition leader took to social media to express his concerns, highlighting over 80 incidents of crime in the state within just three to four days.

Rising Crime in Bihar

Tejashwi Yadav's criticism came in a strongly worded Facebook post on Sunday, where he questioned the silence of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar amidst the escalating crime rates and corruption in the state. "Troubling crime record in Bihar under the BJP-ruled double engine government! Did you hear Chief Minister Nitish Kumar speak on record-breaking crime, uncontrolled corruption, and the tragic loss of lives in Bihar? And what about the collapsing bridges? Won't you even listen?" Tejashwi wrote, emphasizing the government's apparent inaction.
In his post, Tejashwi provided a detailed account of the criminal activities that have plagued Bihar over the last few days. According to his records, the state has witnessed a shocking 87 incidents of various crimes in less than a week. The incidents reported include murders by shooting, burning alive, rape, and extortion.

Among the crimes listed by Tejashwi Yadav are several harrowing incidents:

  • A BJP worker was shot dead in Siwan.
  • BJP leader Ajay Sah was gunned down in Patna.
  • A tourist visiting Rajgir was shot dead.
  • In Kaimur, a man was shot dead.
  • JDU leader was shot in broad daylight in Saharsa.
  • A fish trader was murdered in Supaul.
  • A young man was brutally stabbed to death in Purnia.
  • Criminals shot a young man in Begusarai.
  • In Patna, criminals looted jewelry worth ₹5 lakhs before strangling an advocate to death.
  • In Jamui, a man was brutally murdered.
  • A youth was burned alive in Begusarai after being doused with oil.

These are just a few of the numerous violent crimes that have shaken the state. Other incidents include the triple murder in Jamui, a family being slaughtered in Begusarai, and several women and minors falling victim to heinous crimes.

Rapes and Attacks on Law Enforcement

The list also includes disturbing cases of rape, with minors being assaulted in Jamui and Darbhanga, and women being raped in Bhabua, Phulwarisharif, and Mokama. Additionally, there have been attacks on police officers and other officials. In Saharsa, criminals attacked a sub-inspector, and in Katihar, the AGM of the State Food Corporation was shot.

Kidnappings and ransom demands have also surged, with incidents reported in Gopalganj, Muzaffarpur, and Patna. Criminals have not hesitated to fire at residences and demand exorbitant sums, spreading fear across the state.

Robbery and Looting Rampant

He further highlighted the robbery incidents that have been rampant, with large sums of money being looted from banks, finance employees, and businesses across Bihar. The brazen daylight crimes have left citizens in a state of panic, questioning the efficacy of the state’s law enforcement.

Tejashwi Yadav's post has brought to the forefront the deteriorating law and order situation in Bihar, urging the Nitish Kumar government to take immediate action. The silence of the Chief Minister on these grave issues has only added to the growing frustration among the people of Bihar.
