Tejashwi Yadav accuses Nitish Kumar of making objectionable gestures toward Rabri Devi in assembly

Tejashwi Yadav alleged that Nitish Kumar has previously made inappropriate remarks about Minister Sheela Mandal’s bindi. He further stated, “Nitish claims to have ‘made’ Lalu Prasad Yadav, but there is no comparison between the two. While my father became an MP as early as 1977, Nitish Kumar has faced repeated electoral defeats.”

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Tejashwi Yadav has accused Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar of making objectionable comments and gestures towards former Chief Minister Rabri Devi inside the assembly session recently. Tejashwi alleged that Nitish Kumar made objectionable gestures and comments against Rabri Devi, including inquiring about her strange questions related to wearing a bindi.

Addressing the media, Tejashwi Yadav also raised questions on Nitish Kumar's behavior and said, "His statements and actions in the assembly are long from being normal. He singled out Rabri Devi and asked odd questions regarding her bindi. That shows his bad mental state. I think that he should put in his resignation right away." Tejashwi also insisted that the footage of the clip be made available to the world to expose the truth.

Past incidents highlighted

Tejashwi went on to accuse Nitish Kumar of this not being the first incident. He quoted one earlier occasion when Nitish Kumar had uttered something inappropriate about a minister, Sheela Mandal's bindi. "He boasts of having made Lalu Prasad Yadav, but there is no comparison between them. While my father earned the MP seat in 1977, Nitish Kumar has repeatedly lost elections," averred Tejashwi.

Demand for resignation of Nitish Kumar

Tejashwi also questioned Nitish Kumar's leadership and health, saying, "He should resign on his own. Without our party's support, he would not have become Chief Minister. It is time for him to retire and stay in an ashram rather than keeping the future of 14 crore people hostage."

Nitish Kumar hits back

Reacting, Nitish Kumar charged the RJD with propagating dynastic politics. He targeted Lalu Prasad Yadav for having installed Rabri Devi as Chief Minister amidst the fodder scam controversy in 1997. Talking to RJD legislators in the assembly, Nitish challenged their role in empowering women, juxtaposing it with his government's initiatives towards women empowerment.

This fiery exchange has also heightened political tensions in Bihar, with both leaders likely to raise the ante in their verbal duels in the days ahead.
