Crime News: A shocking incident unfolded in Assam's Karimganj district, where a teacher allegedly showed pornographic content to students during class and engaged in inappropriate behavior with one of them. The incident, which occurred on August 12, has led to widespread outrage among parents and the local community. According to the police, the 37-year-old teacher was caught watching pornographic videos on his mobile phone in the classroom. 

Disturbingly, he allegedly showed the explicit content to the students and inappropriately touched a female student. The traumatized student reported the incident to her family after returning home, prompting immediate and furious reactions from the parents.

Parents’ violent response

The following day, a group of enraged parents gathered at the school, demanding accountability and justice. Their anger escalated into violence, resulting in the vandalism of the school premises and the setting of a fire. Local authorities quickly responded to the scene, and the police have registered a case against the teacher under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Additionally, some of the parents involved in the vandalism have been booked for damaging government property.

Investigation underway

The incident has sparked an investigation, with law enforcement officials examining the teacher’s conduct as well as the actions of the parents. The situation has led to widespread condemnation, with many questioning the safety of children in educational institutions. "We send our children to school for education, not to be exposed to such vile acts," commented one distraught parent.
