Manav Sharma, a TCS technician from Agra, committed suicide in a dramatic turn of events that left the social media in a frenzy. In the six-minute video he recorded before he took his life, he accused his wife, Nikita Sharma, of infidelity. Manav claimed he caught her with a man and complained that no one does anything when it comes to men's rights. The video went viral and the social media was abuzz with arguments.
After the incident, Manav's wife, Nikita Sharma, stepped forward to relate her side of the story. In a video message, she claimed to have told her in-laws about Manav's suicidal plans much before, but they did not take her seriously. She also alleged ill-treatment by her in-laws after his death.
Recalling the incidents, Nikita stated, "I went to my in-laws' residence on the day Manav's body was brought. They instructed me to go away after the funeral. They did not open the door for me a couple of days later, accusing me of his death. His sister even pushed me out of the house."
Nikita also produced WhatsApp conversations with Manav's sister, proving that she had tried in vain to alert the family about his suicidal intentions. The conversations also confirm that Manav had tried to commit suicide earlier and that his sister was indeed very well informed about the troubles he had been facing. To Nikita's response, Manav's sister confessed to having tried to advise him on several occasions in the past and even having encouraged him to take care of himself earlier, but, unfortunately, he had not followed through on that.
The incident has already sparked fierce debates regarding mental health, marital issues, and men's incapability of expressing their pain. The authorities are currently probing the events leading to Manav's death as the public is divided along the two parties' roles and responsibilities.
