Tamil Nadu: Stale biryani at DMK event causes food poisoning to gathering, over 100+ rushed to hospitals

Tamil Nadu News: In a troubling incident on Friday, more than 100 people, including 40 children, fell ill after consuming biryani served at an event organized by the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) in Tamil Nadu. The event, which featured a general meeting and the distribution of welfare items to the public, saw biryani provided to attendees. Some individuals even took the food home to share with their families.

Shortly after consuming the biryani, a significant number of people began experiencing symptoms of nausea and vomiting. The affected individuals were quickly rushed to the Villur Primary Healthcare Centre for treatment. As the situation worsened, 10 ambulances were dispatched to transport patients to healthcare facilities in Virudhunagar and Kallikudi, where they are now receiving medical care.
