Tamil Nadu: BJP's OBC Morcha secretary found dead with cut marks, police initiates investigation

The BJP functionary was found dead near Vandiyur toll gate with cut marks on his body. A Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) leader was allegedly killed on Thursday by unknown assailants in broad daylight near the Vandiyur toll gate in Tamil Nadu's Madurai district. 

According to police, the BJP functionary was found near Vandiyur toll gate with cut marks on his body. The police earlier suspected it it to be a case of accident but later discovered cut marks on his body.

Identity of deceased

The deceased, identified by the Police as Sakthivel (35) a resident of Thevar Kurinji Nagar in Madurai. He had served as the Madurai BJP's OBC Morcha secretary. 

An investigation into the murder is underway.
