In a startling incident, a Muslim woman from Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, has alleged that her husband gave her verbal triple talaq after she praised the police for managing a tense situation in Sambhal. The violence, which erupted following a court-mandated survey of a local mosque, claimed four lives and left many injured.The 36-year-old woman, a resident of Kathagar locality, lodged a complaint with the police, accusing her husband and in-laws of pronouncing triple talaq and subjecting her to other forms of abuse. She alleged that her husband warned her not to view the video but became enraged when she commended the police, subsequently pronouncing triple talaq.The police assured that appropriate action would be taken, as triple talaq has been a punishable offense under Indian law since 2019.Womans complex marital history adds to case detailsThe complainant also revealed a complicated marital history. She was first married in 2012, but the union ended in 2021. Later that year, she met another man who initially refused to marry her after they became physically involved.
