Suspended JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna was taken into custody early Friday morning, May 31, after arriving at Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport from Germany. Revanna, who landed at approximately 1:15 am, was immediately escorted to the CID office in the city, officials confirmed.
Revanna is facing an investigation by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) over allegations of sexual harassment and criminal intimidation. These allegations stem from a complaint filed by a woman who had worked in his household. The Karnataka government formed the SIT to probe these serious charges. Upon his arrival, Revanna was detained and is expected to appear in court today in connection with the alleged obscene video case.

Authorities confiscated two of Revanna’s check-in bags, which were taken away by the SIT team in a separate vehicle. Security was notably heightened outside the CID office in Bengaluru, with barricades set up in anticipation of Revanna’s arrival. The suspended MP returned to India nearly a month after leaving for Berlin on a diplomatic passport and was promptly taken into custody upon landing.
On May 27, Revanna released a video statement asserting his intention to cooperate with the SIT and appear for questioning on May 31. He mentioned that his trip to Berlin had been pre-planned, noting that there were no charges against him when the second phase of the general elections took place in Karnataka on April 26. Revanna also claimed that the allegations against him were part of a political conspiracy, suggesting they were aimed at undermining his growing political influence.
