New Delhi: Terrorists attacked an army vehicle in the Billawar region of Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua district on Monday. According to reports, the attackers fired from a hilltop and also threw grenades at the vehicle. Six army personnel sustained injury in the attack. They have been rushed to the hospital.
According to officials, the region in Jammu and Kashmir is under the jurisdiction of the Indian Army's 9th Corps. Defence officials told ANI, "Our troops responded to the terrorists' fire. More information is expected soon."
Terrorist attacks in Jammu and Kashmir have been on the rise in recent weeks. On June 11 and 12, Doda district experienced two major terror incidents.

On June 11, six security personnel were injured when terrorists attacked a joint check post at Chattargalla. The following day, a police officer was injured during a gunfight with terrorists in the Gandoh area at Kota Top.
In response to these incidents, security forces have intensified their anti-terror operations. A cash reward of Rs 5 lakh each has been announced for information on four Pakistani terrorists believed to be operating in the area.
On June 26, three terrorists were killed in a forest encounter in Doda district. This operation was part of the intensified efforts by the police, Army, and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) following the earlier attacks in the district.
