Amid the ongoing violence in West Bengal's Murshidabad and the rhetoric in the Supreme Court, a petition seeking imposition of President's rule in West Bengal was heard. SC advocate Vishnu Shankar Jain mentioned the matter related to a writ petition seeking imposition of President's rule in West Bengal in view of the recent violence following the enactment of the Wakf Amendment Bill, 2025.

West Bengal Crisis
Lawyer Vishnu Shankar Jain appeared before the bench of Justice BR Gavai and Augustine George Masih and mentioned the matter. Now the matter will be heard tomorrow. On the petition of Vishnu Shankar Jain, the bench headed by Justice BR Gavai said, 'You want us to direct the central government to impose President's rule?'

On this, lawyer Vishnu Shankar Jain said that there is a need for immediate deployment of paramilitary forces. Vishnu Jain said that my petition on post-poll violence in Bengal is already pending on this matter. On which the court has issued notice in 2022. This matter is listed for hearing tomorrow.
