New Delhi: The Supreme Court expressed strong disapproval of Bibhav Kumar, an aide to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who is accused of assaulting AAP Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal on Thursday. The court noted the incident and questioned Kumars behavior, saying it was shocked and a goon. A bench comprising Justices Surya Kant, Dipankar Datta and Ujjal Bhuyan heard arguments on Kumars appeal against the Delhi High Courts decision to deny him bail. In his plea to the high court, Kumar argued that he had been unjustly imprisoned for over 25 days and presented a medico-legal report that he claimed contradicted Maliwals account of her injuries, suggesting that her version of events was not supported by medical evidence.As stated in the First Information Report (FIR), Swati Maliwal alleged that Bibhav Kumar subjected her to a brutal assault, slapping her 7-8 times and repeatedly kicking her in the stomach and pelvis, despite her pleas to stop. The FIR also notes that Maliwal was menstruating at the time of the alleged attack.
