Mangesh Yadav, the main accused in the notorious robbery of a jewellery shop in Sultanpur district, was killed in a police encounter. Yadav, who had a bounty of Rs 1 lakh on his head, was at the center of the investigation into the daylight robbery that shocked the region.

Authorities confirmed that Yadav had been evading capture since the incident, but an intensive manhunt led to a confrontation, where he was neutralized by the police. Four other individuals involved in the heist have already been arrested and are currently in police custody. Law enforcement agencies believe this encounter will significantly dent the organized criminal activity in the area.

Sultanpur Jewellery Heist: A Brazen Daylight Robbery

The incident took place earlier this month when five armed men stormed the largest jewellery store in Sultanpur district. In broad daylight, the miscreants brandished weapons and threatened the staff and customers before fleeing with two bags filled with jewellery.

The total value of the stolen jewellery is said to be in the range of several crores. The robbery sent shockwaves through the district, as it highlighted the audacity of criminal activities taking place in the area. A massive police operation was immediately launched to apprehend the culprits.

Local residents expressed relief upon hearing the news of Yadav’s death, praising the swift actions of the police. With four criminals in custody and the prime accused dead, the police are confident that they will soon recover the stolen items and bring closure to the case.
