In a tragic incident, a CRPF jawan who were on election duty died in Mathabhanga, West Bengal, last night. As soon police received information about the incident, officers reached the spot and was immediately taken to the hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.
According to the information, this incident happened last night. A CRPF jawan was found unconscious inside the bathroom of a polling booth in Mathabhanga. When people saw, the soldier was immediately taken to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Hospital sources say that the jawan had suffered a head injury.
Preliminary information has revealed that the jawan had fallen in the bathroom. Regarding this matter, the police have taken the body into their custody and sent it for post-mortem. No information about any irregularities has been received yet. The police have started investigating this entire matter.
The first phase of voting for the Lok Sabha elections is taking place today on Friday. In the first phase, voting is being held on 102 seats in 21 states and union territories. Many Union Ministers and former Chief Ministers are also in the fray in the first phase. With the completion of the first phase of voting, there will be 10 states and union territories where the elections will end. Voting is also being held on three seats of West Bengal – Cooch Behar, Alipurduar and Jalpaiguri.
