Subhash Yadav, close associate of RJD chief Lalu Yadav arrested by ED in sand mining case

The Enforcement Directorate on Saturday arrested Subhash Yadav in Patna following raids at several locations.

RJD leader Subhash Yadav, who was close associate to Lalu Yadav, has been arrested by Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with illegal sand mining activities. ED raided eight locations of Subhash Yadav throughout the day on Saturday. According to the media reports, ED arrested Subhash Yadav late in the night. 

The Enforcement Directorate on Saturday arrested Subhash Yadav in Patna following raids at several locations and Rs 2.15 crore were recovered from his possession. 

ED raided eight locations

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Saturday raided several locations of Subhash Yadav, considered close to Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav. According to the information received, a total of eight locations of Subhash Yadav have been raided in Patna. 


20 FIRs against Broadsons Commodities Pvt Ltd (BCPL)

Subhash Yadav is the director of Bradson Construction Private Limited, which is involved in the sand business. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is acting in response to a Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) investigation that was started after the Bihar Police filed 20 First Information Reports (FIRs) against him. Seroious issues over environmental regulation and revenue losses were raised by the FIRs.

Contested Lok Sabha elections on RJD ticket

Subhash Yadav is said to be close to Lalu Yadav and in 2019, RJD had also made him its candidate from Chatra Lok Sabha seat of Jharkhand. Investigating agencies have already taken several actions against Subhash Yadav. Along with ED, CBI and Income Tax have also raided his premises in the past.
