New Delhi: Suvendu Adhikari, the Leader of Opposition in West Bengal and a prominent BJP leader, has proposed the dissolution of the partys minority wing. Speaking at the BJP state executive meeting in Kolkata, Adhikari asserted that it was time to move away from the slogan Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas (Together with All, Development for All), a phrase championed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.Shift in strategyAdhikari introduced a new slogan, Jo Hamare Saath, Hum Unke Saath (Those who are with us, we are with them). This shift comes in the wake of the BJPs disappointing performance in the Lok Sabha elections and subsequent bypolls for four Assembly seats.I had spoken about nationalist Muslims and you too had said Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas. But I will not say this anymore. Instead, we will now say, Jo Hamare Saath, Hum Unke Saath. Stop this Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas. Minority Morcha is not needed, Adhikari said.Origin of Sabka Saath, Sabka VikasThe slogan Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas was introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2014. It aimed to promote inclusive and holistic development for all Indians, regardless of caste or religion. However, Adhikaris recent remarks indicate a strategic pivot away from this inclusive approach.Lok Sabha election resultsIn Lok Sabha elections, the minority community played a major role in hindering the BJPs goal of winning 30 of Bengals 42 Lok Sabha seats. In the recent elections, the BJP managed to secure only 12 seats, a decline from the 18 seats it had won previously.Addressing voting allegationsOn Tuesday, the Nandigram MLA launched a portal for voters who allegedly were unable to exercise their franchise during the Lok Sabha election and bypolls to register their complaints.Nearly 50 lakh Hindus were not allowed to vote in the Lok Sabha elections. More than 2 lakh Hindus were not allowed to vote in the four by-polls held in the state, Adhikari said in post on microblogging platform X.
