Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a fierce attack on Congress and National Conference, asserting that only the Central government, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, can restore statehood to Jammu and Kashmir.

“Congress and National Conference are claiming they will restore statehood. Tell me, who can actually give it? Only the Central government, PM Modi can give it. Stop misleading the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” Shah stated. He reaffirmed that statehood would be granted at an appropriate time after elections.

Shah lambasted the manifestos of both the Congress and National Conference, accusing them of advocating for outdated systems and proposing dialogues with Pakistan. "Until there is peace, there will be no talks with Pakistan," he firmly declared.

Criticism of manifestos and terrorism concerns

Amit Shah also criticized the opposition's approach, alleging that their policies would enable terrorism and endanger reservations for marginalized communities. "Congress and NC want to bring back two flags and Article 370 to Jammu and Kashmir. They want to snatch the reservations of Gujjars, Bakarwals, Paharis, and Dalits. We won’t let that happen," Shah remarked.

Further attacking their stance, he claimed they wanted to release criminals involved in terrorism and reopen Line of Control (LoC) trade with Pakistan, which he argued would only fund terrorism. “The profit from LoC trade will be used to spread terrorism. They want to talk to Pakistan, but until there is peace, there will be no dialogue.”
Shah concluded by urging BJP booth workers to campaign with vigor, emphasizing the party’s commitment to peace, development, and equal rights for Jammu and Kashmir.
