With a heavy hand on the state of law and order, INLD (Indian National Lok Dal) leader Abhay Chautala demanded on Sunday that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) conduct a comprehensive investigation and held the Manohar Lal Khattar-led BJP government accountable for the death of state party Chief Nafe Singh Rathee.

Nafe Singh Rathee, the leader of the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) in Haryana, was shot and killed on Sunday by an unidentified assailant close to the Bhadurgarh railway crossing in the Jhajjar region of Haryana.

Chautala slammed the state government and said that despite the fact Rathee informed about threats to his life, the government failed to provide necessary security measures.

Meanwhile, Haryana Police have named 4 men namely Naresh Kaushik, Ramesh Rathi, Sathish Rathi, and Rahul in the FIR.

On the other hand, Jitendra Rathee, the son of Haryana INLD president Nafe Singh Rathee, demanded the police and government to arrest all of the culprits as soon as possible. While speaking to ANI, he said, “For the past five years, my father has been asking security. My father was shot dead because he continued to voice concerns against the government, according to CID's ongoing inputs. Before my father passed away, I wanted them (political parties) to stand with us."

According to the reports, three security guards, whom Rathee hired for protection also suffered injuries.
