The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya is currently under construction, and it is noteworthy for its use of special bricks that carry great historical and cultural significance. These bricks, named after Lord Ram, are not the ordinary construction material. They are crafted using a unique formula that imparts exceptional strength and durability to them, far surpassing that of regular bricks. One distinctive feature of these special bricks is that they bear the inscription Shri Ram 2023, marking the year in which the temple is being erected. This inscription serves as a commemoration of the significant milestone in the construction of the temple. The craftsman behind these extraordinary bricks is Atul Kumar Singh, the owner of the Shri Ram Brick Kiln. The Singh family has been in the business of brick-making for generations, and their legacy is intertwined with the history of the Ram temple in Ayodhya. In fact, Atul Kumar Singhs grandfather, Vasudev Narayan Singh, was one of the contributors of bricks for the original Ram temple in Ayodhya back in the 16th century.Atul Kumar Singh expressed his connection to the legacy of the temple and the bricks. He mentioned, When I visited the Ram Mandir to gather information about the special bricks named Shri Ram 2023, I discovered that the bricks used here were demolished along with the disputed structure in 1992. Those bricks were also found with the initials VNS, which were in the name of our grandfather Vasudev Narayan Singh. Today, as the construction work of the temple progresses, we wish to contribute in a manner reminiscent of our ancestors. He went on to explain the exceptional qualities of these bricks, For this purpose, a special machine was used to fortify the soil. A dedicated team was employed to prepare the soil for brick-making. Prior to their use in construction, these bricks underwent rigorous lab testing, proving to be twice as strong as standard bricks. Furthermore, they are being inscribed with the name Shri Ram 2023.The demand for these special bricks is substantial. Initially, there was a contract with Larson and Turbo to purchase approximately 850,000 bricks for the temples construction. However, these remarkable bricks are now being employed for various other projects within the temple complex.Nripendra Misra, who chairs the construction committee of the Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, has provided a significant update on the temples construction. He revealed that the first phase of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya is slated to be completed by December 30 of this year. The construction of the temple is being undertaken in three phases, with devotees expected to be able to access the temple after the conclusion of the first phase. This marks a momentous step forward in the long-awaited realisation of the temples construction.
