Sopore encounter Jammu and Kashmir: In an intense encounter in Sopore, Jammu and Kashmir, security forces neutralized two terrorists following a targeted search operation in Baramulla district, based on precise intelligence. The operation, involving a joint team of the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police, began Thursday night and continued into early Friday.

The clash unfolded after security forces, acting on intelligence inputs about suspected terrorist presence in Sopore's Panipora area, launched a search. As the forces closed in, the militants responded with heavy gunfire, sparking a fierce gunfight.

"Two terrorists have been neutralized in the Sopore encounter," confirmed Jammu and Kashmir Police in an official statement, adding that identification efforts are ongoing. Recovered from the site were arms, ammunition, and other incriminating materials linked to the militants.

The Indian Army posted details on X, sharing that vigilant troops detected suspicious activity and, upon confrontation, the terrorists opened indiscriminate fire. "Our troops effectively retaliated," the Army stated, confirming that the operation remains active as forces work to secure the area.
