Crime News: In the quaint village of Etha district's Dharampur, a grim secret was unearthed. What began as a suspicion harbored by a stepson, led to the horrific revelation of a murder that tore a family apart. This is the tragic tale of Seema's untimely demise at the hands of her own son. It all started when Harpal, Seema’s stepson, noticed her sudden disappearance. The 40-year-old mother had been missing since June 13, and her absence quickly stirred concern.

Harpal, unable to shake off a growing sense of dread, reported her disappearance to Sakroli police station. Little did he know, his suspicions would uncover a horrifying truth.

Complex family web

The family’s history has a series of marriages. Ganga Singh, the patriarch, had been married three times. His first wife, Shridevi, bore him a son, Harpal. After Shridevi’s passing, Ganga married Sudha, who also passed away. Ganga’s third marriage was to Seema, with whom he had one son, Ramashankar, and four daughters, one of whom was already married. Ganga Singh passed away three years ago, leaving Seema as the head of the household.

Dark revelation

As days passed and Seema remained missing, the villagers buzzed with speculation. On June 16, the police intensified their investigation, focusing on Ramashankar. Under the stringent interrogation led by SO Naresh Singh Jadoun and his team, the gruesome details emerged.

Land disputes become fatal

Ramashankar, along with his friends Neeraj from Dharampur and Ram Babu alias Bhalu from Nagla Siyaram, had strangled Seema to death on the night of June 13. Their motive was rooted in Ramashankar’s suspicion of his mother's character, coupled with a fierce disagreement over her intentions to sell land.

Grim discover

Late Monday night, guided by the information provided by the accused, the police unearthed Seema’s body from a grassy field, a kilometer away from the village. The discovery of her remains not only confirmed the worst fears but also painted a stark picture of familial betrayal and violence. The community was left in mourning and disbelief as the reality of the crime set in.

Ramashankar’s confession revealed a deeply fractured relationship with his mother. His mistrust of her character and his opposition to her plans to sell family land was pivotal in the tragic unfolding of events.

Culprits arrested

After the confession and recovery of the body, the police arrested Ramashankar and his accomplices. They were sent to jail, facing charges that would ensure they answer for their heinous crime. Harpal’s initial alert to the authorities proved instrumental in unveiling the truth, albeit a harrowing one.
