New Delhi: In a tragic development, an Army soldier was martyred in two separate encounters with terrorists in Jammu and Kashmirs Kulgam on Saturday. The first encounter occurred in the Modergam area, where the soldier sustained severe injuries and was immediately transported to the nearest hospital. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after. Four unidentified terrorists were also neutralised in the operations. Reports claimed that another soldier also succumbed to his injuries late at night.Ongoing operations seizeThe search operations to apprehend the terrorists was active until all the terror suspects were neutralised. Reports indicated that three to four terrorists were hiding in the region who were later killed following a successful encounter operation. Based on intelligence inputs, the Indian Army and local police cordoned off the entire area to locate and neutralise the threats.Meanwhile, Kashmir Zone Police confirmed the initiation of the encounter through a post on X, stating, “Encounter started at Modergam Village of Kulgam District.
