Slits throat, packs 3-year-old in suitcase: Mother suspected in Muzaffarpur child murder, flees with lover

A shocking incident has been reported from Bihar’s Muzaffarpur, where the child’s mother, Kajal Kumari, has been missing since 2 PM on Friday, raising suspicions that she may have been involved in the heinous crime. It is believed that Kajal, who was allegedly involved in an illicit affair, conspired with her lover to murder her daughter before fleeing the scene.

According to the police, Kajal took all her jewelry, Aadhaar card, and other essential items with her before disappearing. The situation escalated when the police were informed, and a significant crowd gathered at the scene. The authorities quickly arrived, took custody of the body, and sent it to SKMCH for post-mortem.

Mishti’s father, Manoj Kumar, and her maternal uncle, Karan Kumar, who lived in the same house, had left for work on Friday morning. Around 2 PM, Kajal informed a relative living on the ground floor that she was going to her aunt’s birthday party and would return late at night. This statement raised no alarms, allowing Kajal to carry out her suspected plan unnoticed.

Upon returning home later that evening, Manoj and Karan found the gate locked and began searching for the missing Kajal and Mishti. Their efforts proved fruitless, leading them to file a missing persons report at the Mithanpura police station the next morning.

During the police investigation, a bag was discovered in a pit behind the house. When the bag was opened, Mishti’s lifeless body was found inside. The Mithanpura police are now using CCTV footage and tower location data to trace Kajal's whereabouts. The family firmly believes that Kajal is responsible for her daughter’s murder.

The crime scene has been handed over to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) for a thorough investigation. If Mishti was indeed killed in the house, FSL experts are expected to find blood traces in the room.
