In Sikkim, a significant incident has led to the evacuation of over 300 families due to land sinking towards the Teesta River, resulting in the collapse of buildings. According to the sources, the affected area has experienced substantial land subsidence, causing severe damage to structures and posing a significant risk to residents. Urging the India government, for the immediate action, one of the resident and victim of the local Naga village has asked for the restoration of the border. As mentioned by PTI, the person said that it has been 11 months since the glacial outburst and there has been no improvement. The person also highlighted it as a threat to the national security.According to PTI, over 300 families in Naga Village of North Sikkims Mangan district were evacuated after a few buildings collapsed in the area. The land in the village is sinking towards Teesta River causing fear among villagers.”Reports also claim that authorities have promptly responded by evacuating the families to safer locations to prevent any casualties and further damage. The situation is being closely monitored, and efforts are underway to provide relief and support to the affected families.
