Shopkeeper fatally shot in Varanasi after refusing to open shop for cigarettes at midnight

In a shocking incident in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, a shopkeeper named Sharda Yadav was fatally shot after refusing to open his shop for a group of miscreants late Thursday night. The event took place in the Chaubepur police station area, where Yadav's refusal to serve cigarettes at midnight led to a violent confrontation.

Around midnight, Sharda Yadav was sleeping outside his home in Binathpur village when two youths on a motorcycle approached him. They demanded a packet of branded cigarettes. Yadav, explaining that he could not open the shop as the key was inside her house, faced immediate hostility. The youths, frustrated by his refusal, began to verbally abuse his and subsequently shot him in the chest.

Upon hearing the gunshot, Yadav's family rushed outside and quickly transported her to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead upon arrival. Villagers immediately alerted the police, who arrived at the scene shortly thereafter.

The Chaubepur Station House Officer (SHO), Varuna Zone Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Chandrakant Meena, and other senior officials conducted a thorough investigation at the crime scene. The police initiated a search operation for the suspects, who were identified as being on a motorcycle, but no substantial leads have been discovered yet.

Meanwhile, the murder of Sharda Yadav has sparked widespread outrage in the village. The community is deeply unsettled by the brutality of the crime, and there is a growing demand for justice. The police continue their investigation to apprehend the culprits responsible for this senseless act of violence.
