In a shocking incident, a 14-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a cleric in Uttar Pradeshs Kanpur. As per the complaint filed by the minors family, the cleric, identified as Sonu Hafiz, also gave abortion pills to the girl after three months of pregnancy. Health condition deterioted Accused Hafiz had given pills to a pregnant minor on the day of Eid to abort her. Due to this, when the minors condition deteriorated, she was admitted to the hospital. Then the family members lodged a complaint against the accused in the police station. The police took immediate action in this matter and registered a case against the accused Sonu Hafiz in several cases and arrested him. Also the accused has been sent to jail. The minor is being treated in a private hospital. Due to being given abortion medicine in large quantities, the minor started having excessive bleeding.Physically abusing from last 6 monthsThe victims mother, from a family living opposite the mosque in Naubasta, told that they live close to the mosque. Her husband works as a labourer. He has five sons and two daughters. The elder daughter is 14 years old. Hafiz used to lure her with expensive foods and drinks, ultimately subjecting her to repeated sexual assaults. The minor victim told her mother that Sonu was physically abusing her for the last 6 months. Case under POCSO actIn this entire matter, Naubasta police station in-charge Jagdish Chandra Pandey said that after arresting Hafiz Sonu, action is being taken by registering a case against him under serious sections including rape, POCSO and threatening to kill the victims family.
