Shocking! CCTV footage shows 25-year-old man shot at close range in Meerut | Watch Video

A disturbing video from Uttar Pradesh's Meerut has surfaced in which a 24-year-old man was shot dead after another man fired from a short range. As per some reports, the incident occurred near a swimming pool in Meerut's Lohianagar area where a brawl between two gangs took a violent turn. 

What was the matter all about? 

The shocking incident took place when a dispute arose between the victim, Arshad and the accused, Bilal and Danish who are absconding. In the video, it is seen that the accused and victim were in a verbal scuffle. When the victim was being taken away from the spot, he was shot dead by the accused from a short range, following which he fell on the ground, covered in blood.

How did the matter escalate? 

Arshad, son of Amir Ahmed from Jai Nagar was enjoying a swim with children when he was targeted. While the police are still trying to identify related cause behind the murder, there are speculations that it may be linked to a dispute. The investigation is underway and police are trying to fetch absconding assailant. 

Police shares press note

In a brief note regarding the murder of the youth under the Lohia Nagar police station area, the police revealed that the victim Arshad was a history-sheeter as per the information provided by police station Nauchandi and had 18 cases registered against him. He was shot by Bilal due to an argument while taking bath in the swimming pool. Cases are also registered against the accused for serious crimes like murder and attempt to murder. A case has been registered on behalf of the plaintiff. Two teams have been deployed to nab the accused.
