The latest season of Shark Tank India has found itself embroiled in a legal dispute as the Cricket Bat Manufacturers Association of Kashmir (CBMAK) has filed a lawsuit against Sony Pictures Networks and Tramboo Sports Pvt. Ltd., the producers of the show. The controversy stems from allegations made during an episode aired on January 30, 2024.According to reports, CBMAK, the recognized governing body representing all cricket bat producers in the Kashmir Valley, vehemently refuted claims made by the Tramboo brothers on the show. CBMAK emphasized the superior quality of bats manufactured by its members, endorsed by various star cricketers, and deemed the Tramboo brothers claims as false and damaging.In response to the alleged false claims, CBMAK has taken decisive legal action. The association has submitted a comprehensive legal notice to Sony Pictures Networks and Tramboo Sports, demanding an on-air apology within 15 days. Additionally, CBMAK has initiated legal proceedings seeking Rs 100 crore in compensation for the losses, damage, and mental anguish endured by its members.While there has been no official statement from the show or the channel regarding the legal action, the matter has garnered widespread attention and raised questions about the responsibility of reality TV shows in verifying claims made by participants.
